About TEAA

The Tajikistan Erasmus Alumni Association (TEAA) was founded on December 24, 2023, during the 5th Annual IET TSUC Erasmus Alumni Meeting — an event that has been organized every year since 2018 to inspire students to pursue international education and participate in Erasmus exchange programmes. What began as a motivational gathering of former mobility participants gradually evolved into a structured community of young leaders committed to giving back to their university and society. During the 2023 meeting, a group of active Erasmus alumni from the Institute of Economy and Trade of the Tajik State University of Commerce (IET TSUC), led by Mukhtorov Saidqosim, Firuz Okhunov, and nine other dedicated members, came together with a shared vision: to establish a formal association that would unite Tajik Erasmus alumni and promote youth engagement, international education, and community development.
From its very first day, TEAA brought together more than 50 members, reflecting the strong interest and commitment of students who had benefited from Erasmus mobility programmes. Since the association was born within IET TSUC, it initially functioned as a university-based alumni community, operating in close cooperation with the institution. Recognizing its growing role and potential impact, the Academic Council of IET TSUC formally confirmed the Charter of TEAA by Decision No. 5 on December 25, 2024 and Rector´s Order No. 03/118 on December 30, 2024. This institutional endorsement marked an important step in strengthening TEAA’s legitimacy and laying the foundation for its further development as a structured and sustainable organization dedicated to empowering youth and advancing international cooperation in Tajikistan.
TEAA will serve as the leading organization and key driving force of the project. As a youth-led alumni network bringing together more than 70 Erasmus programme alumni, TEAA possesses unique experience, motivation, and capacity to mobilize students, alumni, and young professionals for social change and community development.
